Spotify Expands Secret Genius With the Launch of Studios

On the heels of its inaugural Secret Genius Awards, honoring creative forces behind the year’s biggest hits, Spotify continues its mission to celebrate the songwriting and producing community with the official launch of Secret Genius Studios. In honor of Women’s History Month, Spotify has selected three prolific female songwriters to curate the studios for the next three months – Meghan Trainor for April, Jhené Aiko for May and Charli XCX for June. Each artist will hand-pick emerging producers and songwriters to utilize the recording studios, providing them with a space to continue to create, with more artists to come later this year.
Secret Genius Studios, located in Los Angeles, Nashville, Atlanta and London, are recording studio rooms intended to offer up-and-coming songwriters access to the latest equipment and time with a seasoned engineer, where anyone can apply via the online portal SecretGeniusStudios.com and receive session time, free of charge.

“I’m really excited to work with Spotify and be a part of this program!” Trainor says. “As a songwriter, my favorite thing is to help young artists figure out what they want to say through their songs. We all have something to say, we are just lucky enough to get to sing it!”
