Clubs show off your listening style in a whole new way. Your Club captures the emotional qualities of your year in music. That includes the moods, genres, and musical terms that defined what you listened to most. Each Club celebrates your distinct listening, and every member gets a special role within their community, from trendsetters and tastemakers to loyal fans and playlist pros. It’s a fresh and fun way to explore your music community and the listeners who groove just like you.

How did Spotify create the Clubs?

Each track is tagged with descriptors. Take your favorite breakup anthem, for example. It might be tagged with descriptors such as “heartbreak” and “yearning” because of the titles of the user playlists that it appears on.

These descriptors roll up into six possible Clubs. For each one, we calculate a score based on streams and assign you to the Club with the highest score.

Your role in a Club is determined by your standout on-platform behavior and listening compared to the rest of your Club.

How are artists assigned to Clubs?

Artists get matched to Clubs based on the emotional feel of their music. So if an artist’s music consistently brings a certain energy or mood, they’ll be part of the Club that shares that same feeling.
