Meet the Real-Life Superfan Starring in Spotify’s Fan Life Campaign

How big of a fan are you of your favorite musical act? Have you recommended your favorite songs to friends and strangers alike? Have you forever memorialized their work on your body with a tattoo? Did your fandom, in some mystical twist of fate, lead to you meeting your significant other?

Kye O’Hagan, a Geese superfan from Glasgow, can answer “yes” to all of those questions. And thanks to his love of the blazing-hot Brooklyn group, he’s one of the faces of Spotify’s latest Fan Life campaign, which begins rolling out around the world today with images that focus on the live concert experience. Fan Life celebrates real fans—the folks who bring years of memories, traditions, and participation to bear—by capturing their sacred and unique concert rituals, highlighting an experience that transforms music into community.

Kye has been a Geese fan (call him a Goose) since 2021, when he heard a song from their first album on his Discover Weekly playlist. In the years since, he’s become a happy evangelist for the group. When he gets the aux cord at work, in a music shop, he’s often blasting tunes like Taxes and Low Era.” He shares his recommendations with curious younger customers, and is working hard to convert older shopgoers, too.

He’s also made more personal connections thanks to the band’s music. He has lyrics from the song “2122” tattooed on his wrists in a display of modern superfandom. “A lot of my tattoos are arbitrary but the reason for this specific one…I just think it’s a truly great modern rock song,” he said.

After bumping into a university classmate at a Geese show in 2023, the two became friends. After a while, that new friend’s roommate and Kye began dating. “It’s funny to think without Geese I wouldn’t be as happy as I am now,” Kye said. “The power of music!”

Spotify has always been the best place for fans, where they can get first access to tickets via Reserved, once-in-a-lifetime artist experiences, or exclusive artist content like Canvas videos and Countdown To episodes. Fan Life is all about recognizing and celebrating the power of fandom. That’s precisely why you’ll see Kye rocking out with fellow superfans—all of them in crocheted goose beanies—in our latest campaign. And you’ll see members of other global fandoms, too, including supporters of A$AP Rocky, Rosalía, Zara Larsson, and more.

Caring about something is a powerful way of sharing your identity, as Kye well knows. “I loved that I became known as the Geese fan to all my friends,” he said. “It’s always fun to be associated with something, but it’s even better when it’s a band you love.”
