SUMMER ADVENTURES

FC Barcelona Teams Up With Rema and Blessd for Its US Preseason Tour

Last week, Spotify and FC Barcelona brought the worlds of music and football together once again to kick off the club’s preseason tour in the U.S. To celebrate the tour—which saw the team travel to Orlando and New York for matches, practice sessions, listening parties, and studio visits—we collaborated with global superstar Rema and reggaeton hitmaker Blessd, two massive artists who are loved by fans and Barça players alike.

Rema soundtracks the FC Barcelona preseason tour

Rema became the first artist to take over the Barça on Tour playlist on Spotify, soundtracking Barça’s preseason tour with some of his favorite hits from his new album HEIS, as well as tracks from Tems, Burna Boy, Camilla Cabello, and Gunna

Rema’s meteoric success is a testament to his unique sound and artistic excellence. Not only did the Nigerian artist have Spotify’s most-streamed Afrobeats album of 2023, but his collaboration with Selena Gomez on “Calm Down” was the most-streamed Afrobeats track of 2023 and the first single led by an African artist to join Spotify’s Billions Club.

Blessd welcomes Barça in Orlando

When FC Barcelona touched down in Orlando, Blessd joined up with the squad on the training field and competed with the Barça players in a unique challenge featuring his new song “Mirame.”

The group dueled it out to see who could be the quickest to get the first touch on the ball, and afterward, FC Barcelona stars Alejandro Balde, Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha and Ronald Araújo presented Blessd with a personalized jersey.

The following day, the team arrived at Camping World Stadium for its first friendly match of the tour with the support of Blessd, who cheered the team on while showing off his new shirt.

MetLife Stadium hosts FC Barcelona for an El Clásico showdown

New York was the next stop, and the stars (including Davido, Olamide, KidSuper, Zlatan Ibile, Maglera Doe Boy, EV Bravado, and Sarz) came out for the club’s friendly El Clásico match at MetLife Stadium.

Prior to the match, Rema was on the pitch in his own personalized jersey to greet fans, offer up his predictions for the big game, and catch a glimpse of his new album, HEIS, being featured on the MetLife Stadium LED boards.

Barça and Rema visit KidSuper Studios for a listening party

We brought FC Barcelona players to KidSuper Studios to join Rema for an exclusive listening party. Players Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, Alejandro Balde, and Jules Koundé enjoyed hits from HEIS and took part in a mini game of football.

Rema also provided dance lessons, teaching some of the Barça players the choreography to his new song “AZAMAN” and pointing out that it’s the perfect dance for post-game celebrations.
