What is Wrapped Party

This year, Wrapped isn’t just all over social feeds. It’s showing up in group chats and taking over hangouts, too.

With Wrapped Party, a mobile-only experience, your listening data become a live competition you can play with friends. It’s the newest way to level up Wrapped, making it even more fun.

To join the Wrapped Party, visit the Wrapped hub in the Spotify App, search for “‘Wrapped Party’ in Spotify,” or access it at the end of your personalized experience.


How many people can join a Wrapped Party?

You can throw a Wrapped Party with one other friend or up to 9 other friends. The more friends, the more details you might unlock as a group in your party.


A few details before you join a Wrapped Party...

Anyone aged 13 or older in any Wrapped-eligible market can join the fun and compete with friends. To be Wrapped eligible, you have to have listened to 30 valid streams across five or more artists between January until a few weeks prior to Wrapped launching on December 3.

How hosting works…

  1. Create the party. Start things off by setting up your Wrapped Party and becoming the host.
  2. Make it your own. You can update your profile image and name and rename your party. Keep in mind that updates made to your profile image and name are also reflected on your Spotify account profile.
  3. Invite your friends. Share a unique party link or code to bring everyone together. Don’t forget to remind them that they need to join live or they’ll miss the fun.
  4. Start the party and control the flow. As the host, you decide when things kick off and keep the experience moving.
  5. Customize your party. Use the emoji feature to react to what others reveal. You can also hand off hosting duties to someone else if you prefer.

How to join as a guest…

  1. Join a Wrapped Party. Click the unique party link sent to you by the host to automatically open the Spotify app and join a Wrapped Party. You can also join by using a code. To do so, click on Wrapped Party in the Spotify app, tap “Join with Code” and type in the unique code your host shares.
  2. Click “Join party.” That’s it, you’re almost in.
  3. Update your name and photo. Make sure your info looks good before the fun begins.
  4. Enter the waiting room. You’ll see the host and other guests as they join. Sit tight until the host starts the party, you won’t want to miss this live experience.
