The Latin Grammys Countdown Starts Now: Inside Our Two-Day Casa Spotify Miami Celebration

On November 14, the Latin Grammys will return to Miami to honor the artists and industry professionals who make Latin music the global phenomenon it is today. In the lead-up to the awards show, which marks its 25th anniversary this year, Spotify is turning up the volume with Casa Spotify Miami. This two-day celebration will culminate in a live concert, bringing fans closer to some of the most exciting artists shaping Latin music today.

The Casa Spotify Miami lineup

On November 11 and 12, Spotify’s Miami headquarters will transform into a buzzing hub for artists, labels, and key players across the Latin music world. We’ll host listening sessions, connect artists and songwriters with industry professionals, and unveil our brand-new permanent studio, a dedicated space designed to empower Latin creators and propel their music onto the global stage.

Then, on the evening of November 12, Casa Spotify Miami will take the party to Wynwood Marketplace, located in the heart of the city’s art and entertainment district. Fans will be treated to an evening of unmissable performances by both emerging and established artists, including some of this year’s nominees.

Rising Venezuelan pop artist Joaquina and Colombian Afrobeats newcomer Kapo will kick off the showcase. Up next: Mexican genre-bending trio Latin Mafia (nominated for Best New Artist), Argentine pop star Emilia (nominated for Best Pop Vocal Album), and Venezuelan singer-producer Danny Ocean, who blends reggaeton and pop (nominated for Song of the Year and Best Pop Song). We’ll close out Casa Spotify Miami in style, with help from our headliners: Colombian hitmakers Ryan Castro and Blessd.

Guests will also have the chance to immerse themselves in Latin culture with special activations, local food and drinks, and limited-edition merch.

Uplifting the Latin music community

Casa Spotify Miami is more than a warm-up for the Latin Grammys—it showcases Spotify’s commitment to the Latin music industry. From championing emerging subgenres to maintaining our flagship Viva Latino playlist, Spotify is proud to celebrate Latin music and its rich tapestry of styles and sounds.

If you can’t get fit without music, you’re not alone. Today, Antonela Roccuzzo, one of the most iconic figures on social media, is sharing her Spotify playlist, WORKOUT X ANTONELA ROCCUZZO. It’s filled with music that energizes her and accompanies her workouts.

This is the first of several playlists in an exclusive partnership between Antonela Roccuzzo and Spotify, offering a glimpse into the hits that soundtrack the daily life of the Argentine entrepreneur, model, and mom of three.

Featuring a number of today’s hottest Latin artists, like Nicki Nicole, Feid, Bizarrap, and, KAROL G, as well as RADAR featured artists like Maria Becerra, Antonela’s playlist will help get you motivated to hit the gym.

“Music is a part of me. I have always listened to music from everywhere, but there is something about Latin music that fascinates me,” Antonela said. “We have incredible artists, and it fills me with pride that they represent us internationally. Women in particular are making stronger strides, bringing their importance to the industry. The fact that they occupy the top spots in the music charts today speaks to their hard and constant work, and of course, their talent.”

To learn more about what fans can expect from future playlists, For the Record checked in with Antonela about the way music fits into her life and the artists she’s listening to most right now.

How does music fit into your day-to-day life?

Music is not just a part of my daily life, but a part of me. Whether I’m at home, at gatherings with friends, or in the car, there’s always music playing—and it can’t be missing when it’s time for a workout.

What was it like to team up with Spotify?

Being able to collaborate with Spotify is great because it’s part of my daily life; the process was very natural. When we moved to Miami, I learned that the brand was starting a project for Latin American female talents. In Buenos Aires, they held a festival with only female artists, which seemed like a great and very important initiative. Being able to support these projects is very gratifying to me.

Can you tell us a little about the first playlist you’ve created?

I love having playlists that accompany my different moods. I usually start the day doing something active, and music is always an extra motivation that helps me get in a rhythm. So when I heard a new song that I liked, I added it to the list. Creating this playlist was a fun and personal process for me.

What’s your song of the summer?

I don’t know which one it’ll be, but lately, I’ve been listening to Imagine Dragons and Danny Ocean the most.

No sé cuál será, pero últimamente he estado escuchando mucho a Imagine Dragons y Danny Ocean.

‘Be Honest With Your Art’: Danny Ocean Reflects on Sudden Stardom and His Deeply Personal New Album

If you aren’t familiar with Danny Ocean’s music, it’s only a matter of time. The Venezuelan singer and producer is a veritable global phenomenon. His hit song “Me Rehúso” surpassed 50 million streams on Spotify in just two months and went on to reach an astounding 1 billion streams.

When “Me Rehúso” joined the Spotify Billions Club in 2020, it was the first time a song from a Latin solo artist had ever achieved that milestone. Danny was also the first independent artist to appear in the Top 10 in Mexico, Colombia, Chile, Spain, and Argentina.

“Me Rehúso” broke a record by becoming the Latin song on Spotify’s Global Top 50 list for the most weeks, but Danny refused to rest on his laurels. The singer’s second album, @dannocean, includes hit singles “Fuera del Mercado,” “Tú No Me Conoces,” “Pronto,” and “Apartmento,” and his eagerly anticipated new album, REFLEXA, will be released on May 2.

For the Record caught up with Danny to talk about the new album and why he says Spotify changed his life.

Your new album is out May 2. What can fans expect?

It’s an album made with a lot of love. We’ve flown everywhere to do this album, and it has been a journey. It is a very spiritual album for me; they are going to hear a very human Danny. It’s called REFLEXA, which comes from reflection and all the meaning of the word—that’s what the album is about.

How does Spotify support your work as an artist? Are there any features—music videos, merch, tour dates—or tools on Spotify for Artists that are especially helpful?

I think that it’s great having the tour dates on the platform. We’ve been doing the pre-save of the album, which I think is really great. I think it gives people the chance to see the process of how we’ve been doing this album. To me, it’s just been an honor to be here, honestly. I’ve said it before: “Me Rehúso” is where it is because of Spotify. It’s crazy how a platform has changed the game. I think it’s amazing.

Are there any artists, producers, or songwriters whom you’d love to work with that you haven’t had a chance to yet?

Max Martin. I would love to sit down with Max Martin one day.

What advice do you have for other artists who are building their careers?

I would just say just keep it going, keep working, keep it real, keep it authentic. Be real to yourself. Be honest with your art. There is a difference between trying to be famous and trying to be an artist. Try to recognize those two words in your path. Keep on doing music, throw it out, let the world hear your music!

Check out Danny’s new album, REFLEXA, and experience the journey for yourself.

Spotify Expands to Six More Countries Around the World

In February, we announced a sweeping global expansion to introduce Spotify to more than a billion people around the world. So over the subsequent months, we launched in more than 80 new markets and added 36 languages to our platform. Today, we’re furthering that commitment by launching in six more markets: Iraq, Libya, Tajikistan, Venezuela, Republic of the Congo, and Democratic Republic of the Congo

By making both our Free and Premium services available in Iraq, Libya, Tajikistan, Venezuela, Republic of the Congo, and Democratic Republic of the Congo, Spotify users in those markets will now be able to listen to the global and local artists they have come to love—and explore new ones. What’s more, local artists will receive an opportunity to reach new audiences both at home and abroad.

Spotify is committed to being available to users and creators regardless of where they live. By adding these six markets to our global ecosystem, we’re better able to introduce the music and sounds of more people, places, and cultures to listeners around the world.

Venezuela in particular has a unique sound that’s as diverse as the country’s landscape. Venezuelan music is a melting pot of sounds and rhythms that are derived from the many different people who immigrated into the country throughout the 20th century and paved the path for a diverse and rich musical identity.

Venezuela has exported many recognizable names, like Ricardo Montaner, who has been representing and leading the culture globally for many decades; duo Chino & Nacho, who helped open the door to a new generation of artists internationally; and Danny Ocean, whose hit “Me Rehúso” has more than a billion streams on Spotify.

Already, Venezuelan artists Tayko and Irepelusa have been featured in our RADAR Andinos program—and with Spotify’s launch in their home country, their opportunities to grow their fan bases expand even further.

For the sounds of Venezuela, check out:

  • Made In Venezuela – Contemporary and catalog content from Venezuelan artists for the world
  • Flow Venezuela – Urban releases from frontline Venezuelan artists
  • Llano Adentro – Music from the Venezuelan and Colombian plains

Iraq, too, has a unique sound to share with the world. Iraqi music, also known as the Music of Mesopotamia, has historic roots in ancient traditions. However, it has also continued to evolve through the eras—from the creation of the oldest guitar in the world and the invention of the lute, to the addition of a fifth string to the rhythms and the various Iraqi maqams. Iraqi music includes contemporary music styles such as pop, rock, soul, and urban contemporary, and has proven to be an important part of the country’s culture.

Iraq has exported many recognizable names, including Kadim Al Sahir, who has been dubbed the Caesar of Arabic songs and Iraq’s ambassador to the world for many decades; Majid Al Mohandis, who was awarded the title of “the Engineer of the Arabic song” because of his success in the Arab world; and Saif Nabeel and Aseel Hameem, who brought a new generation onto the stage.

Get to know the hits of Iraq in أفضل الأغاني العراقية, find new Iraqi songs on عراقي جديد, or fall in love with Iraqi Romance songs. And start streaming some of the other musicians from the region, including Saif Amer, Rahma Riad, and Mahmoud Al Turky

We’re so excited for even more artists and fans to now be able to connect—no matter where they’re listening from.
