Spotify Debuts Legends Club for Popular German-Language Podcasts With ‘Kaulitz Hills’

Legends club, on stage talent

The new Spotify Legends Club has opened its doors. Its members: select German-speaking podcasts that have surpassed 100 million streams. This club is introducing a new live-event format where hit podcasts record a video episode in front of an audience of dedicated fans. The first show celebrating this achievement is Kaulitz Hills – Senf aus Hollywood.

The special episode of Kaulitz Hills was recently recorded at Berlin’s legendary restaurant Borchardt, a long-standing gathering place for celebrities, politicians, and socialites. The video episode will drop exclusively on Spotify on March 18.

The idea behind Spotify Legends Club is simple: spotlight shows from the German-speaking world that have left a lasting mark on the podcast landscape, and create opportunities to forge an even closer connection between creators and their most dedicated fans.

Kaulitz Hills was a fitting choice to inaugurate the Legends Club live series. Twin brothers Bill and Tom Kaulitz, who host the show, are Germans who live in Los Angeles. Each week in their music studio in the Hollywood Hills, they hit record, have a few drinks, and discuss their personal lives, pop culture, and current affairs.

Kaulitz Hills has been an integral part of our lives for four years now,” said Bill. “Every Wednesday, we take our community along with us into our everyday life between Los Angeles and Berlin. Seeing what this podcast has grown into feels fantastic.”

Added Tom, “For us, the Spotify Legends Club is like the crowning moment of this journey: an evening with people who have been by our side for years, who laugh and celebrate with us, and to whom we were able to bring a piece of our world directly to Berlin.”

Spotify Doubles Down on Investments in Australian Fan Discovery of Homegrown Aussie Talent

Spotify had an energizing week in Sydney, Australia, filled with powerful conversations and moments uniting leaders across government, music, and the broader creative community. Spotify’s leadership reinforced the incredible growth Australian artists are seeing on Spotify, doubled down on Spotify’s commitment to the Australian music industry, and discussed new ways to unlock opportunities for local creatives.

Helping Aussie artists build sustainable careers at home and abroad

Australian artists are seeing life-changing support from fans on Spotify. Nearly half of Australians use Spotify, and they’re among our most engaged listeners globally. In 2025 alone, local fans streamed Australian artists 223 million more times on Spotify than the year before.

Overall, Spotify is the single biggest payer to the Australian music industry, paying out AUD $330 million to Australian music rightsholders in 2025. That represents a 7% year-over-year increase in royalties for Australian artists from Spotify. Approximately half of that went to independent artists and labels.

More Australian artists than ever are building sustainable careers through streaming on Spotify. Today, more than 370 Australian artists earn over $100,000 annually from Spotify alone, double the number from 2017. Australian music is also traveling further than ever, with Australian artists getting discovered 2.7 billion times globally by first-time listeners. This export factor helps Australian artists turn listeners worldwide into lifelong fans.

Consistently investing in Australia’s homegrown talent

This growth reflects Spotify’s sustained investment in initiatives like Turn Up Aus, RADAR, and EQUAL, alongside the continuous work of our Australian editorial team. They’re the people discovering and spotlighting local talent across playlists like Hot Hits Australia, Turn Up Aus, New Music Friday, Heaps Country, A1, and more.

Alongside our partnership with the ARIA Awards in commemorating Australia’s top talent, we announced this week a new AUD $200,000 commitment and multi-year partnership between Turn Up Aus and The Push to elevate the next generation of Aussie artists. We’ll help The Push—Australia’s leading youth music organization—create pathways for local artists and industry leaders, investing not only in today’s talent but also in the future of the country’s creative economy.

To celebrate the partnership, we gathered with The Push alumni, industry guests, and artists Robert Baxter, Suzi, and MAY-A (our newest addition to RADAR Australia) for a night of music, conversation, and delicious pizza.

Bruce Springsteen and Jeremy Allen White Unite in London for an Exclusive Spotify Conversation and Film Preview

Rock legend Bruce Springsteen and luminary actor Jeremy Allen White came together last night at Spotify’s London HQ for their first joint appearance in the UK. Nebraska itself is getting a rerelease, Nebraska ’82: Expanded Edition, timed to the movie premiere.

Fans in the room heard firsthand accounts of a pivotal period in The Boss’ career and how the actor approached portraying one of music’s most enduring icons.

“As you get older, you take more risks in your work and in life in general,” said Bruce on the decision to bring this chapter of his life to the big screen.“[Director] Scott [Cooper] had a really good grasp of the kind of film I’d be interested in—not a standard musical biopic, but a character-driven drama with music.”

Spotify Lends a Helping Hand to NYC Neighbors, the 9/11 Memorial & Museum

Each April, runners and walkers of all stripes gather together in Lower Manhattan for the 9/11 Memorial & Museum 5K. This race remembers those killed on September 11, 2001, and honors the service of those who bravely stepped in to help New York City recover and rebuild.  Participants on the three-mile race route follow a similar path that first responders, and rescue and recovery workers took on their way to Ground Zero on that tragic day, and in the days, weeks and months afterward.

For this year’s event, organizers enlisted next-door neighbor Spotify (our NYC headquarters are located at 4 World Trade Center) to help. We invited Ally Love from Peloton to emcee, and popped-up a DJ booth with DJ Love Language at the starting line to pump up participants. We also tapped teen DJ Annie Red to spin for families post-run, and provided a photobooth and fun giveaways.

“Spotify is proud to call 4 World Trade Center our NYC home. As part of this community, we recognize the profound responsibility to honor the history of our location—not just in September, but year-round,” said Dustee Jenkins, Chief Public Affairs Officer at Spotify. “This year, we are thrilled to support the 9/11 Memorial & Museum 5K with activations that will energize and inspire participants, ensuring the spirit of resilience and community continues to propel us all forward.”

Finally, more than 25 Spotify bandmates laced up their running and walking shoes to join in the festivities.
