BTS and Spotify Bring ‘ARIRANG’ to Top Fans in New York City

BTS is so back. This week, the global pop superstars took the stage at New York City’s Pier 17 for their first U.S. performance in four years.

Part of Spotify x BTS: SWIMSIDE, a global series of immersive live events, the night was a celebration of the band’s latest album, ARIRANG. The setlist featured new tracks including “2.0,” “SWIM,” and “NORMAL.” And even though the album has been out for less than a week, the crowd—made up of more than 1,000 of BTS’ top local fans on Spotify—was already singing along.

After the show, the group sat down with Suki Waterhouse for a Q&A, sharing exclusive insights into the making of the album and their return to music.

Ten years after its release, South African hip-hop artist Kwesta’s DaKAR II is still making waves. With 51.8 million streams on Spotify, the album continues to resonate with fans in the artist’s hometown of Katlehong, a township east of Johannesburg, and beyond.

Together with Sony, we hosted a listening party in Johannesburg for Kwesta’s top Premium fans to celebrate DaKAR II’s anniversary, including a live set from the rapper and his band.

‘DEADBEAT’ Delivered a Raw Communal Party With Tame Impala and The Dare in Brooklyn

Last week, Spotify and Columbia Records transformed Pier 4 at the Brooklyn Army Terminal into DEADBEATS, a stripped-down open-air gathering that put music and community at the center. 

Held to mark the release of Tame Impala’s new album, DEADBEAT, the event blended sonic exploration with a raw communal energy and brought fans together in celebration of the new music. With DJ sets from Yaeji, SEEESOOOOO, the band’s frontman Kevin Parker, and The Dare, the event convened more than 1,000 of Tame Impala’s top fans on Spotify for an afternoon that celebrated sound over spectacle.

Bruce Springsteen and Jeremy Allen White Unite in London for an Exclusive Spotify Conversation and Film Preview

Rock legend Bruce Springsteen and luminary actor Jeremy Allen White came together last night at Spotify’s London HQ for their first joint appearance in the UK. The exclusive event gave top Spotify fans an early look at Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere, the forthcoming film that explores the creation of Springsteen’s influential 1982 album Nebraska. Nebraska itself is getting a rerelease, Nebraska ’82: Expanded Edition, timed to the movie premiere.

In an intimate conversation, Bruce and Jeremy opened up about the emotional depth of the record, the creative choices behind the film, and the connection between vulnerability and artistry. Fans in the room heard firsthand accounts of a pivotal period in The Boss’ career and how the actor approached portraying one of music’s most enduring icons.

“As you get older, you take more risks in your work and in life in general,” said Bruce on the decision to bring this chapter of his life to the big screen.“[Director] Scott [Cooper] had a really good grasp of the kind of film I’d be interested in—not a standard musical biopic, but a character-driven drama with music.”

Lola Young Celebrates Her New Album With an Intimate Evening for Spotify Fans

Forget the red carpet and velvet ropes. To mark the release of her new album, Lola Young decided to invite fans into her world. Last week, she welcomed her top Spotify listeners in London, along with friends and family, to Shoreditch’s Protein Studios for a night of deeply personal performances.

The crowd gathered in “Lola’s room,” where she performed several tracks from her just-released album, I’m Only F**king Myself—her first since the Londoner went viral with her chart-topping 2024 hit, “Messy.”

The set included several new songs, like “SPIDERS,” “Post Sex Clarity,” “Walk All Over You,” and “Penny Out of Nothing.” Blending live music and poetry, Lola gave the audience an intimate look into the themes that shaped the album.
