Unlock Your Podcast Potential With Spotify for Podcasters Masterclass

Coming up with a great idea for a podcast might feel like striking gold. But taking those next steps to create and host the show, build an audience, and even grow your brand can be daunting. Even once you’ve gotten started, it’s hard to know where to go from there.

Spotify for Podcasters enables creators to record, publish, manage, and track their shows—a one-stop-shop platform for podcasters, regardless of where they’re hosted. Whether you’re aiming to use fan engagement features like Q&A and polls, find tips for publishing your first video podcast, or switch to Spotify from another platform, Spotify for Podcasters is here to help.

Today we’re helping podcasters grow and make the most of Spotify tools with Spotify for Podcasters Masterclass. This educational video series is our latest offering to help empower creators to make the most of the entire Spotify ecosystem. Each inspirational and engaging episode will feature Spotify experts and creators alike, with a focus on developing the capabilities of new and existing creators.

“Spotify for Podcasters Masterclass is our new education series that gives creators a peek behind the curtain at our tools for podcast creators,” Jordan Newman, Spotify’s Head of Podcast Partner Management and host of the series, shared. “Like the platform itself, these videos are a resource for creators in realizing their full potential—they get to hear directly from experts, the people behind the product, and some of our most established creators to learn how to use our tools to grow their show and, ultimately, be more successful.”

The first episode, “Unlocking your podcast potential,” will teach podcasters how to navigate their home bases, grow their shows, and deepen their connections with fans. It features Jordan Newman in conversation with Gael Aitor of “Teenager Therapy,” as well as Maya Prohovnik, VP of Podcast Product at Spotify and a creator herself, who walks viewers through the tools they need to step up their podcast game.

It’s being held live on June 14 at noon eastern, and interested attendees can RSVP here. If you missed it, no worries—the live broadcast will live on our Resource hub as a video, and as a video podcast on Spotify. Live attendees will have the opportunity to connect with Gael and ask Jordan questions.

We’ll continue with several more episodes debuting throughout 2023 on topics like interactivity, understanding and growing your audience, and video podcasts. Each will debut with a live broadcast—so make sure to RSVP—or catch them on-demand after the livestream.

Spotify Turns Up the Volume in Pakistan With Events and Music Campaigns

Two years ago, we introduced Spotify to listeners in Pakistan. Since the launch, we’ve worked with the country’s artists to expand their reach and share their music with new fans worldwide—and now we’re taking things to a new level.

March marked the first anniversary of our EQUAL women’s empowerment program in Pakistan, with singer Tina Sani as the Ambassador of the Month. RADAR, which highlights emerging artists from all around the world, also recently made its debut in Pakistan, featuring Taha G up first. He’s at the top of the RADAR Pakistan playlist, and Spotify worked with the singer to create a mini-documentary that spotlights his life and career.

In addition to bringing these programs to the region, we’re finding unique ways—from Masterclasses to cricket campaigns to local playlists—to connect with artists.

Lending artists support with a Masterclass in Lahore

Our music industry experts were ready to share their knowledge during a Spotify for Artists Masterclass event in Lahore, PK. “We hosted at the historical Haveli Barood Khana mansion, and used this opportunity to educate and share information on music streaming trends and new product features with the burgeoning music industry in the region,” shared Khan FM, Artist and Label Partnerships Manager for Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh. Renowned Coke Studio music producer, curator and artist Zulfiqar Jabbar Khan shared his perspective on the Pakistani music industry with an audience that included more than 150 artists and their teams.

‘See You Again’: Charlie Puth’s Musical Homecoming

Most people visit their alma maters excited to see their old dorms or to catch the homecoming tailgate and football game. But when Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter/producer Charlie Puth stopped by his old stomping grounds at Berklee College of Music in July, it was for slightly more academic reasons: to be a frank, off-the-cuff guest lecturer for students looking to perfect their music and pursue their passion, just as he did.

The Berklee grad (class of 2013) walked away from college with a degree in music production and engineering, as well as knowledge and experience that helped him land his first major label deal, with Atlantic, in 2015. From there, he collaborated with Meghan Trainor on their hit single “Marvin Gaye,” and Wiz Khalifa on the Grammy-nominated number “See You Again.” He released his debut album, Nine Track Mind, in January 2016.

Yet throughout his burgeoning fame he hasn’t forgotten his roots. On July 12, Puth joined up with Spotify and one of his former Berklee teachers, Grammy-nominated hit songwriter and former “American Idol” judge Kara DioGuardi, to host a special workshop and live performance for current top-performing upperclassmen at campus hot spot Cafe 939. He reflected on his time at the school and launching his career, workshopped with students, provided tips for improvement, and even performed some of his hits, including “Done for Me,” “How Long,” “Attention,” “The Way I Am,” and “See You Again.”

“I’m on cloud nine right now, you know why?” Charlie asked the class. “I played a show in front of 15,000 people last night. But my first show ever was in this room. It’s come full circle.”
