"Songs of Summer predictions" text appearing on a stylized postcard

The days are getting longer, the temperatures are rising, and playlists are filling up for the season. With summer around the corner, Spotify’s global editors have been keeping a close eye on the musical landscape and are ready to unveil the songs they think could shape this year’s soundtrack.

“I think above everything, we all know that a song of the summer is about the vibes,” said Talia Kraines, Editorial Lead, Pop at Spotify. “It’s a song that makes you feel good, that you can listen to outside in the sunshine with your friends, and that has the ability to travel across genres, people, and countries.”

From hot new releases to chart-climbing anthems and surprise viral hits, our picks are made for beach days, road trips, rooftop parties, and everything in between.

And for the first time, we’re letting listeners predict the song they think will be the season’s biggest hit with in-app voting. Just tap “Vote” at the top of the Songs of Summer playlist, then share your pick on social media or via Spotify Messages.

Songs of Summer 2026 predictions

Dance music is a summer staple, but this year we’re seeing several party-ready tracks turning up the heat with a nostalgic twist. “New Religion” (Bebe Rexha and Faithless) and “Jamaican (Bam Bam)” (HUGEL and SOLTO) sample sounds from summers past, while “Talk To You” (ANOTR and 54 Ultra) and “DANCE…” (Slayyyter) channel disco, ’90s house, and early 2000s French electronica.

But the energy doesn’t stop there. Artists from Ghana to Colombia are keeping partygoers moving this season with internationally-inspired sounds. “Kakalika” by DopeNation fuses Ghanaian azonto with South African Amapiano, while “CHÉVERE” by ARIA VEGA and Ryan Castro brings Caribbean and Latin Afrobeats energy.

Sadboy summer is also trending. Songs like “Freakin’ Out” by Dexter and The Moonrocks, “Babydoll” by Dominic Fike, and “Earrings” by Malcolm Todd are perfect for nights when you’re looking for something moodier.

And for storytelling in song, country is taking us places. Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” and STELLA LEFTY’s “Bostonare rooted in specific locations, evoking the warmth and reflection of long summer nights.

Without further ado, here are Spotify’s 2026 Songs of Summer predictions, listed in alphabetical order by artist first name.

Whether it’s a pop powerhouse, an Afrobeats groove, or a dancefloor-ready hit, these songs all have one thing in common: the potential to define summer 2026.

Stay tuned! We’ve got more surprises coming all summer long.

JENNIE and Spotify Celebrate the K-Pop Star’s Debut Solo Album With a Special ‘Rubify’ Listening Party

K-Pop star JENNIE has cemented herself as a powerhouse solo artist with more than 40 million monthly listeners on Spotify. And on February 27, JENNIE and Spotify welcomed 200 of her dedicated fans into Rubify, a celebration of her debut solo album, Ruby. Held in Seoul ahead of the album’s release, the event brought fans up close and personal with JENNIE as they got an immersive look into her artistic vision.

“This album means everything to me—it’s my story, told through my voice and my vision,” JENNIE said. “Shakespeare’s concept of the seven stages of life really resonated with me, so I wanted to explore those emotions—from innocence and love to power, reflection, and legacy. It felt like the perfect way to introduce myself as a solo artist and show every side of who I am. I was inspired by the play aspect, with the curtains revealing my next step in my career.”

Cheers To 10 Years of Spotify in Canada

Since launching in Canada in 2014, Spotify has been the go-to audio platform for Canadians while also providing a home for artists, creators, authors, and listeners alike. And yesterday, to honor our partnership with those communities over the last 10 years, our team in Canada flung open the doors to our Toronto HQ to welcome them for a day of events and entertainment celebrating Spotify’s journey with Canadians.

Featuring performances by Québec-based singer-songwriter Claudia Bouvette and country artist Cameron Whitcomb, alongside a fireside chat with author Uzma Jalaluddin for Spotify’s “Audiobook Club,” the open house encapsulated how Spotify has helped to broadcast Canadians’ unique diversity and culture around the world, as well as from coast-to-coast-to-coast.

It’s been eight years since BLACKPINK captivated the K-Pop scene and transcended to global superstardom. Since then, they’ve racked up billions of streams on Spotify and built a loyal following of BLINKs—the moniker for their fandom.

#8YearswithBLACKPINK

Spotify is commemorating the quartet’s milestone anniversary with a series of surprises on the This Is BLACKPINK playlist under the banner #8YearswithBLACKPINK. From August 1 through August 8, which marks the period of the group’s inception, the playlist will pay daily homage to a different BLACKPINK era.

As listeners experience iconic milestones of members JISOO, JENNIE, ROSÉ, and LISA, some users in Indonesia, South Korea, the Philippines, the U.S., Thailand, Brazil, Australia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Saudi Arabia, Italy, Spain, Poland, Pakistan, the United Arab Emirates, Japan, India, and Turkey will be rewarded with special digital social cards that will be revealed daily based on their streaming habits.

“It’s been thrilling to witness the growth of BLACKPINK throughout the years,” said Jungjoo Park, Head of Music Korea, Spotify. “Our #8YearswithBLACKPINK campaign bolsters our commitment to supporting Korean artists in reaching and deepening their connections with listeners worldwide, and we hope fans enjoy the special surprises we have in store for them.”

A record-breaking rise

The proof is in the numbers when looking at BLACKPINK’s rise to stardom. Their Spotify streams tracked an average year-on-year growth of more than 110%, and the group now has more than 13 billion streams on our platform. BLACKPINK tracks have been added to more than 71 million user-generated playlists, and their top five most-streamed songs—“How You Like That,” “Kill This Love,” “Pink Venom,” “DDU-DU DDU-DU,” and “Shut Down”—have collectively garnered more than 4 billion streams.

We mentioned that their music has made waves well beyond Seoul, the city where they got their start. On Spotify, BLACKPINK’s top listening markets include the U.S., Indonesia, Mexico, the Philippines, and Brazil.

Celebrate the group and let Spotify take you on a journey through each of its eras with the This Is BLACKPINK playlist.

BLACKPINK and Spotify Celebrate New Album ‘BORN PINK’ With a Pop-Up Experience and Special Gift for BLINKs Around the World

Two years after their last release, The Album, BLACKPINK’s fab four—Jisoo, Jennie, Lisa, and Rosé—have finally dropped their new studio album, BORN PINK

And BLINKs, your patience has paid off. BLACKPINK collaborated with Spotify to give fans around the world* the ability to listen to the album for free as many times as they want, and in the order they wish, for the first week of release. In addition to accessing the “listen free” feature exclusively via the BORN PINK by BLACKPINK playlist, fans can also treat themselves to exclusive bonus content available on Spotify K-Pop ON! Track.

Pulling from a wide range of influences, including classical music and ’80s pop, the eight tracks that make up BORN PINK truly offer something for everyone. “Shut Down” samples Niccolo Paganini’s “La Campanella,” blending classical music with hip-hop to create a track with a mysterious and alluring edge. Meanwhile, the fun synthy production on “Yeah Yeah Yeah” is nothing short of an earworm that you can’t get out of your head. And perhaps most impressively, BORN PINK’s lead single Pink Venom” generated the most single-day streams of any song released by a female artist or group in 2022 so far.

To mark this momentous occasion, we hosted BORN PINK: The Pop-Up Experience in Los Angeles this past weekend, and BLACKPINK went all out. The group’s four members curated every element of this three-day pop-up, which included custom photo moments, a pink boba tea bar, the opportunity to purchase BLACKPINK merch, and an exclusive giveaway.
